Luna the Big Dog™ needs lots of grooming to stay beautiful. When we’re walking around people, a frequent question (along with “How much does she eat?”) is “How do you keep her fur so fluffy?”
The honest answer, usually, is “I don’t, that’s something HA does. She gets groomed every day or two.” But now, HA is away so it’s up to me to keep Luna looking good for her adoring public.
One thing HA discovered is that using a blower makes a big difference. Luna doesn’t like, for example, leaf blowers, but we got a special pet grooming blower that is powerful but much quieter. Luna like. She hops up on her special grooming table (a piece of duck jerky makes the jump much easier) and gets intensively blown and brushed. It keeps her soft and fuzzy and keeps the dreadlocks at bay.
Once grooming is done, though, it’s time for play. After she gets down from the table, she just loves standing in the blast of the blower, turning this way and that, and biting at the stream of air. It’s fun to watch, and really seems to make her happy.
