Today is my annual retina exam. After nine eye surgeries, my vision is better than it has been since third grade. Still, they want to check my retinas annually. This one is a big one, though, as I’m not sure where the closest retinologist will be after I relocate to the island place.
Of course, it’s a bright, sunny day and all that sunshine will greet me as I emerge from the darkened ophthalmologist’s office with fully dilated eyes.

The exam was successful with no new findings. Whew! Got a referral to a new retinologist on an island somewhat closer to where I’ll be.
