HA has been doing a marvelous job cleaning up the landscaping along the road to the east and the neighbors’ driveways to the south of the house. One problem, though, is that there hasn’t been a source of water in that area. It’s been unseasonably dry, and the new landscaping has been suffering.
Now that we have our catchment water installed at the garage, I thought I could mitigate the landscape watering problem. I re-did the piping under the laundry sink so that I could install a spigot on the east wall of the garage.
The water comes in from the tank on the right, goes to the little diaphragm pump, then to a four-port manifold on the left of the pump. One port, blue, goes to the washer. Another, silver, goes to the laundry sink. The fourth, green, goes to the spigot. I’ll keep the second port of the manifold in reserve in case I ever decide to add hot water to the laundry equipment.
Shortly after I got the spigot working, we had a downpour (yay!) getting almost ⅓ inch of rainfall in about 20 minutes.
