photo of our water tank with a temporary flexible downspout connected to the roof gutter

After weeks of perfectly sunny weather, we finally got some rain: about ¾ inch over a day or so. The catchment system isn’t actually finished — I still need to install a first-flush diverter — but enough rain had come down to wash the roof so I temporarily connected the flexible downspout to capture the rain into our tank.

Now we’re able to use water that falls from the sky (at least for our laundry) and electricity that shines down from the sky that also substitutes for gasoline in our electric car.
