This is a nightmare!
I tried to apply an update to the quartz content management system. The update applied okay, but it deleted all my data.
Not a problem. I always have multiple levels of backups. Always. Except…
…somehow the backups weren’t running, and I’ve been too busy with the move and all the stuff going on at the new place to test the backups. They stopped running the day I moved, though I’m still not sure why.
So you’ll get “404 — Either this page is private or doesn’t exist.” error for most of the pages here right now.
As I get the time, I’ll:
- recover the pages up until 2024-08-23 from the backups
- recover some pages that got captured by the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, though there weren’t many.
- recover some pages that got cached by my RSS reader; this looks at first glance as though it might cover mid-September to current, but it will take a much closer look to know
This all happened just as things really got busy (the garage door is here and the solar power system install is imminent) so it might be a while before things are back to a reasonable facimile of normal.
