photo of Joulee the Free Salvage Tesla in the garage, with the washer and dryer to the left and accumulated junk treasures to the right

I pushed the still dead dryer back so that I could try putting the car in the garage. She fits! With room to get in and out! She’ll probably have to come out when we do laundry, but she’s not too shoehorned in.

Why is the dryer still dead? The replacement main control board (MCB) shipped on time and arrived today (great job, LG Parts!), but did not change the symptoms one bit. Most every troubleshooting guide I’ve seen pointed to the MCB as the problem, so either the replacement part is also defective (unlikely) or it’s something else. I’ve checked the over-temp fuses and that’s not it, so I’m running out of ideas. Fortunately, I found a copy of the “CONFIDENTIAL,” top-secret service manual for the dryer.

Any reproduction, duplication, distribution (including by way of email, facsimile or other electronic means), publication, modification, copying or transmission of this Service Manual is STRICTLY PROHIBITED

I’ve already found some diagnostic procedures that aren’t covered by any YouTube videos or DIY web sites, so I hope they’ll help me diagnose the problem.

In the mean time, I can wash Joulee and keep her snug in the garage, out of range of the fierce tropical sun. I’ll have wet clothes, but a clean car.
