My father-in-law left early Wednesday to return to the mainland. It was a wonderful visit but, much like having a wonderful vacation, we’re still looking forward to having things return to normal. For one thing, we had just received our new bed and had only slept in it a couple of nights when we exiled ourselves to the garret so that HA’s dad could have a bed where he didn’t have to climb a long, steep flight of stairs. After we sent him off, we had some traveling of our own to do so we still haven’t been back in our own bedroom, but tonight’s the night.
The storm dropped a lot of rain (probably just shy of twenty inches) but has passed. The severe winds predicted for the back side of the front didn’t materialize, and apparently there was almost no damage. We needed the water, and we didn’t need any damage, so it’s all good.
