The hot tub needs daily testing and periodic addition of chlorinator (to sterilize the water) and baking soda (to adjust the pH). Since building the special deck and getting the tub filled up and running, I’ve been using a large bucket to store the test kit and chlorinator. Unfortunately, it’s much too much trouble to open the bucket, and it was too small to hold the baking soda.

Way back on 7 May, I ordered a small deck box that I thought would be perfect. Alas, it got lost in shipping. It didn’t arrive until 12 June, when I was on the mainland. I didn’t get to unbox it until yesterday, when I discovered it was damaged. Indeed, the box had been crushed and taped back together, but some of the plastic inside was bent in a way that made assembly difficult. In the end, I was able to get it together well enough, and it seems that it will do what I need.
