We went to the beach today: HA, her son, Luna the Big Dog™, and me. We didn’t leave too early, but Luna’s favorite beach was still uncrowded. I’m guessing the air temperature was about 74° F with blue skies. Warm in the sun, cool in the shade. The water was in the mid-70’s. There were 2-3 foot high waves: enough to body surf a bit, but nothing challenging. There was a mild onshore breeze. The only problem is that the surf was a bit too high for Luna, so she pretty much insisted on staying ashore instead of going for a swim.

In short, it was a perfect beach day. We had a great time, and were home shortly after 1pm. Then I went to my yoga class, which is this wonderful, low-stress experience. The regulars — all women who’ve been attending this class for years — are tolerant and supportive of me, a rank beginner in yoga.
My neighbor drove, and I had a lot of trouble getting into her car on the way there because I couldn’t bend my head enough to get it through the door. Coming home, I didn’t even think about it and slid in the door without strain. Rapid gratification! But mostly, the yoga class is some reserved time to be self-indulgent and actually improve my physical and mental health.
I got home to a hot tub that was 102.9° and I soaked while listening to tropical wildlife.
Sometimes, it really slaps me in the face that I live in paradise.
