I left my favorite sourdough starter behind when I moved to the island. Back in January 2025 I created my first island-native starter. It had quite a distinctive flavor, but very little leavening power. I tried again last month and made a batch of dough using the Queen B sourdough bread recipe.

The picture above shows the dough after rising for 30 hours or so. It really should have overflowed the bowl by now, so I suspect this batch is another non-starter (groan). But I’ll bake it tomorrow and see what I get.
