As you might recall, I have been trying to get prescriptions filled for testosterone replacement. At last count, we had involved three pharmacies and my poor doc had written over 11 different prescriptions, and I had tediously managed to get the medication itself and the two different sizes of needles. Everything I needed except the syringes, of all things. We left it with the mail order pharmacy stating:

screen shot of message from pharmacy saying "We're still experiencing a delay with your order of Syringe, now estimated to arrive by Mar 15...

They kept up that fiction until 8pm on the 15th, when I received this…

screen shot of message saying my syringe order has been cancelled

It has now been 57 days since my medication was first ordered, and I still can’t take it.

All is not lost, however. Several people pointed out that veterinary supply stores sell syringes without a prescription (which is perfectly legal) and that they’re just a regular stocked item, so it would avoid the incredible nonsense I have gotten from pharmacies. (They’re the exact same item you get with a prescription, by the way.) An order is on the way, and should be available on Monday — a mere 62 days since I started trying to get this standard, common, cheap, generic medication started.

It worked! The veterinary syringes arrived on time and I have finally got a dose of medication after a mere 62 day wait.
