As you might remember, Joulee the Free Salvage Tesla was taking an ocean cruise to our island. She docked at a major port on a nearby island, and I got pinged by her asking to be charged. She apparently sat in that port for a few days, then was placed on a barge for our island. The shipping company wasn’t very forthcoming with information, so we armed ourselves to try to be prepared for a discharged car when she arrived.

We needn’t have bothered. The shipping company, without notifying us, just sent her back to the big port. “The car wouldn’t start, so we sent it back.” Say, what? Like, they’ve never shipped a car and had it arrive (over a month later) with a dead battery? What a mess.

Well, according to the shipper, she’ll go back to the big port where they’ll be able to tow her off the barge (they couldn’t do that here?) and try charging her, then they’ll send her back here. No additional expense to us. But it seems a kind of awkward failure. Since the car was in 100% working order when she was dropped off at the original port (including being charged to the exact degree the shipper had requested), it’s a little concerning that they seem so unprepared for the outcome.
