it’s a nice hotel, I suppose
small room, nicely appointed,
ice bucket, turned-off television,
view of the pool…
but her voice is too tinny,
too far away on that tiny telephone speaker
and the in-room coffee is Starbucks
and all I can think about
is when she was whispering in my ear
sexy in a satin robe
and handing me real coffee
without a logo
