The phone woes continue. It sounds as though Google is trying to cover up a bug in some Pixel 9 phones that keep them from activating their eSIMs once the bootloader has been unlocked. Sigh.

The GMRS radio network here was pivotal in helping coordinate community efforts during hurricane Lala. The problem is that my radio was one of the least clear of the whole neighborhood, probably because of our local topography. It doesn’t work at all from indoors, and standing outside in hurricane conditions wasn’t really an option. I made an outdoor antenna which helped a bit even just mounted on my deck railing, so today (a sunny morning, at least) HA and I mounted it on the eaves of the house.

It seems to be working really well. Even after the rain came back this afternoon, my signal is apparently much clearer now.

Next, I want to do the same thing for the meshtastic network node.
